We received the following update from Mike and Linda:
Palm Sunday March 28th. Please collect a Palm Cross from one of our open churches, Bishop Wilton. Kirby Underdale or Bugthorpe. If you are not ventruing too far please let us know by e mail or by ringing the Rectory on 01759 369974 and we will drop one off for you.
Holy Week - there will be an online service at 10.00am on Maundy Thursday 1st April and for Good Friday 2nd April again at 10am. These services will also be available on catch up through the www.garrowbychurches.com website and YouTube so that you can watch them at whatever time is helpful to you. Some may want to watch the Maundy Thursday service on the evening and Good Friday at 3.00pm but you will have the choice depending on what is happening in your life especially as lockdown restrictions are changing.
Easter Day 4th April - There will be a broadcast service at 10.00 am and this will be followed by an 11.15am said communion service at St Edith’s Bishop Wilton as the biggest church in the Benefice. We will use the same set up as we did for Christmas to keep everyone safe in case more people come than usual given the fact it is Easter. The general Covid guidance still remains in place so we will share communion in one kind and won’t be able to sing but we will have some music.
The Sunday after Easter April 11th will be a pre recorded service at 10.00am accessible through the website. From then on, subject to the numbers of infections dropping and the numbers vaccinated continuing to rise we hope to return to the model we used before the latest lockdown:
10.00am Broadcast service followed by a said communion in church at 11.15am.

I never imagined this time last year that we would still be doing so much online but I have been heartened by the way in which everyone has pulled together to continue to worship and grow in our faith during such a diffiuclt and challenging year. Linda x
